Children Choir
St. Augustine of Hippo (+430) is often quoted as having said "He who sings, prays twice." (
Qui bene cantat bis orat).
Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church, San Francisco Bay area, is proud to have children choir group serving some of The Divine Liturgies during the main feasts of the Liturgical year. Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children." (Matt. 19:14). Based on Jesus’ teachings, Roula Jamhouri Haddad, with the help of the children’s parents, started the “praise while singing” ministry for the children in our parish.
Also, Roula recorded and donated a “Psalms & Hymns” CD (Aramaic, Arabic, Latin, and French), to benefit the church.
The CD is available (donation $10 minimum) for all the parishes in the states. To order, please email the parish office at
ollsf@aol.com
All interested children (5-12 years) are invited to join the Children Choir of Our Lady of Lebanon.
The Children Choir members are welcome to participate in singing and serving some of The Divine Liturgies on Sunday (see below, schedule of Masses and practices).
The Children Choir will be practicing to serve the 11:30am Masses, special Feasts, and the First Communion on May 1st, 2011.
If you are interested in joining, please contact the parish office.
